Whether true or not, conflict is part of everyday life. People respond differently to conflict: avoiding it, negotiating through it, or even actively seeking it out.
In most cases conflicts are minor irritations that play a small role in daily life. Other times issues arise that we cannot avoid, ignore, or otherwise come to terms with. These conflicts can develop into disputes when other perspectives threaten something very important to us, such as when separating or divorcing parents cannot agree on matters related to their children, or when difficult work relationships threaten productivity and job satisfaction.
