How facilitation works

Workplace facilitation sessions are two hours in length and typically include those segments / departments where productivity issues are present.

Sessions start with preliminary information about the nature of the discussion (such as explaining the facilitator role, setting guidelines for interaction, and asking what participants need for this to be a productive and safe space for discussion).

While the sessions cannot be guaranteed to be confidential—I cannot control what other participants will say or pass on—the importance of promoting goodwill and honesty amongst participants is emphasized, as well as the reality that difficult discussions can raise strong emotions, and so preparing participants to present and hear these emotions respectfully.
